The environmental effects come with the sound card drivers. This has
nothing to do with Service Pack 2. Your sound hardware may be different
than your friend's. If you have a standalone sound card, then check
with the mftr. for drives and related programs. If you sound card is on
the motherboard, check with the motherboard mftr. If you have an OEM
machine (HP, Dell, etc.) look on their tech support website for your
specific model machine.

If the drivers for your sound hardware don't have those effects, then
I'm sorry but you won't have them. Possibly there are third-party
programs that would do what you want, but I have no idea about that.

The program is part of the drivers for the Ac97 (sound effect
manager), you need download a third party program for the same.

Replied to your other message. Please don't multipost - if you need to post
to multiple groups, it's best to crosspost instead, by posting a single
message to a handful of relevant groups (separate the NG names with commas)
so that everyone can follow the thread. Thanks :-)

Then can I have a thrid party download site of ac97 or something pl0x not
a lecture on what I can and cannot do.

Then are you not able to Google for yourself.
B4 u reply if its just to lecture me about how I can post realize that I
don't spend hours at a time on this fourms. I didn't post topics just to
be lectured about postin them.

You were asked very politely by Lanwench - there are many others who would
have been rather more to the point.
I appears to me that you perhaps spend too much time in 'forums &
chat-rooms'.
Your 'chip' possibly explains your terrible attitude and your immaturity to
accepting guidance.
You I believe have posted your thread in the web interface but your replies
have come from the windows newsgroups.
The help given to you has been full and informative - too bad if it is not
what you expected.
At this point I or someone would have given you the various links to using
newsgroups/how to post/cross-posting etc.
But I cannot be bothered.

As Antioch pointed out, this is not a forum. It is a newsgroup.

You came here looking for free tech support/advice from complete strangers
who are volunteering their time to attempt to help others - and if you want
to receive any such help in the future, you will do well to adjust your
attitude as well as your methodology. Nobody wants to play twenty questions,
and few people will be happy to devote time to replying in a thread when
they find that the questioner has thoughtlessly asked others in other groups
to do the same.

My initial reply to you was not at all rude, as I assumed you likely didn't
know how to crosspost properly and would benefit from the advice, but your
reply to me was ungracious.
You can, of course, post however you like. It's a public newsgroup.
But if you actually want help, learn to write
clearly and to post properly, and you will get a lot of assistance.

If you instead choose to waste everyone's time by multiposting, and write as
though
you were composing a text message, you will more than likely get ignored at
best.

AC97 is a built into the motherboard sound system. Does your comp's MB
have AC97 is the question you should be asking. Someone here could
probably help you *if* anyone knew what motherboard your comp has.
