Is there any known issue in running sfc in Windows XP?

I want to run sfc.exe in Windows XP but want to make sure that it won't have
any problem with service pack and hotfixes. I find an article that Windows
2000 requires SP4 to run sfc.exe correctly. Does XP need to be in SP2 or
later?

By the way, does sfc only detect windows dll but not dlls created by other
applications?

Windows sfc /scannow checks that the drivers and dlls match what was
installed against what is actually on the system.

If you have not copied the i386 folder from the Windows XP Installation CD,
you will need the CD of what is installed on your system.

If you have installed SP2, and only have the SP1 Windows XP CD, you will
need to slipstream the SP2 servicepack with the i386 folder from the Windows
XP CD inorder for sfc /scannow to work.

Probably not Necessary.
As long as the necessary files have not been deleted there is no need to
slipstream a CD for SFC to function properly.
The most you should need is the disk originally used to install Windows.

And what happens when SFC compares SP1 files on the CD to the SP2 DLLCACHE
files on the system?
