Is there any freeware that will convert FAT16 to FAT32 without reinstalling Windows?

This is the "C" drive, and contains Windows (98SE). Windows
conversion utility will require that Windows be reinstalled after the
conversion. Needless to say, I'd like to avoid that. I figure there
is, and I just haven't looked in the right place. Thanks!

Are you referring to fdisk, or have you tried this way?

Windows 98 includes a graphical FAT32 conversion utility, which quickly
and safely converts a hard drive from the original FAT to FAT32. You
can also start FAT32 Converter by clicking Start, Programs,
Accessories, System Tools, and then clicking FAT32 Converter.

You can download a trial copy of BootIT NG and it should do that. I
believe they allow full functioning for 30 days. It also allow for
booting multiple OS'es. It's NOT freeware, but it should work for 30
days in order to do what you wish done. It's pretty popular and many
folks end up buying it

win98 will do that for you.

Yes, but according to the help file, if you use that utility on a
drive on which Windows is installed, you have to reinstall Windows.

I'm referring to Win98SE's FAT32 conversion utility. According to the
help file, I would have to reinstall Windows, since it's on that
drive.

Not true! I've done the conversion on dozens of computers and you don't
have to re-install Windows.

The FAT32 Resource Page
http://members.tripod.com/pc_harddrive/hd_fat.htm
http://www.project9.com/fat32/

Extract from above.

Notes on the Windows 98 FAT32 converter: If you convert your hard drive
to FAT32, then you cannot uninstall Windows 98 without reformatting.
Once you convert your hard drive to the FAT32 format, you cannot return
to using the FAT16 format unless you repartition and format the FAT32
drive. If you converted the drive on which Windows 98 is installed
using FDISK, then you must reinstall Windows 98 after repartitioning
the drive, you do not have to do this if using the converter.

Thanks! Glad to know that!
