Is there an update to Microsoft paint and is it free?

I have not been too happy with the Paint program on my xp so I have
been trying Paint.NET. When I printed my pictures to a PDF file the
Printed words in the pictures were not as clear as I had hopped.

I used mostly text and pictures with a few colors to make the pictures
I used to make the PDF. I would like to find something simple to use
which may take me back to Microsoft Paint and will show text clearly
when I Print the picture to PDF.

Hi Sam,

The issue you are having with text appearing fuzzy may not be related
to the program you are using. However, when I need to add text to
pictures and I want to use a simple program, I use Ultimate Paint.

There is a freeware version available and it's easy to use. It should
be an easy transistion if you are used to using Paint.
