Is there an easy way to save at .rtf or .msg in an outside file?

I would like to save my mail as .rtf or .msg to a folder outside of outlook.
It would be great if i could set up a rule that would do this automatically.
When I looked at rules and see the "script" option but i don't know how to
creat one and am unsure if it would work at all in the way I am suggesting.

No, you can't; why do you want to store your messages out of Outlook? Having
so many small files on your disk is highly inefficient; for instance your
virusscanner will go nuts on it.

Anyway; you can drag and drop your messages out of Outlook into an Explorer
window to save the message(s) as msg-file.

It may seem inefficient to you, but I'm sorry, you were not asked to judge
what FlyHunter wants to do. I have the very same need. As do several
others. Just do a quick search of this NG for "save" and you'll find many
requests for this. Not to mention a Google search that turns up several
developers that have developed solutions for this problem.

Sorry to get on my soapbox, but too many of your so-called MVP's are way too
quick to insult the people you are supposed to be helping.

And, judgement ot not, Robert gave the answer: drag-and-drop.

I'm sorry... I did not mean to insult anybody... especially those smarter
than me. I was just wanting to be able to save certain groups of emails as a
record outside of Outlook automatically - not all of the emails I receive.
Sorry if I offended anyone...
