is there an advance sound recorder ?

Is there an advanced sound recorder that comes with
windows xp? If my memory serves me right, I had one that
came with windows 95. I was wondering if this is missing
from my xp disks , similar to sbackup missing.

I'm talking about sounds recorded from a mike, The sound
recorder in accessories\ entertainment is just basic, 60
sec capacity

Sometimes this is included with the software that is installed with your
sound card. Otherwise, you'll need third party software.
