Is there a way to recycle old/used HP Deskjet pritners?

I am the technology manager for a company and we toss out countless HP
deskjet printers because something will break on them and the repair
ends up costing more than buying a new printer.

I hold onto these printers thinking that one day Ill have tome to fix
them myself or they will magically start working again...

Laser printers are no problem. My HP rep told me I can get rebate
money back if (after buying a laserjet) I send them back an old
laserjet in return. This works well for me but there is no similar
offer for deskjets.

Anyone know of a company that comes and picks them up? I dont have the
heart to trash them. But have no use for them in my office.

Thanks in advance!

If there is one, you can always advertise them on your local freecycle
group http://www.freecycle.org/

I don't know which country you are in but see.
https://warp1.external.hp.com/recycle/
This service is free in some countries and charged for in others.

Hi!

The motors and actuators in the printer might be useful in other projects.
Perhaps some of the control electronics could even be re-used. Some of the
miscellaneous plastics and mechanical parts also might be reusable.

Finally, if nothing else, the printers could be taken part and studied to
show how they work.
