Is there a way to recolor a background image with a custom color?

Is there a way to recolor a background image with a custom color? Using PPT
2007 I am unable to select a custom color for a background image. I am using
the Cloud theme to select a custom image and I am using the format background
diolog to try to select a custom color but under the picture recolor
selection I only get preset colors. I have tried to use the edit theme but
that does not seem to work. Any thoughts?

You mean the cloud template from PPT 2003? You're trying to use that and
recolor the image in 2007?
