Is there a way to link multiple presentations to one master deck?.

My department has to prepare presentations for several groups. Many of the
slides are the same regardless of the audience. However, due to the
complexity of the information presented, the notes space is utilized. If we
make changes in one deck, we then have to make changes in all of them. Is
there a way we can only make changes once and have all the different slide
decks update? (Much like the update links feature in Excel?)

You have several options. The best option might be to keep everything in
one file and create Custom Shows. The same slide can appear in more than
one custom show, and when that slide is changed, it will be changed for
all the custom shows. Then, you will need a menu on the first slide that
has buttons that link to the appropriate show.

This is helping me move in the right direction!
Couple more questions...
-Is it possible to print each custom show? We need to print and distribute
to each group separately.
-Would like an appriopriate header/footer for each presentation... is there
a way to change this?
Also, further clarification on our problem... we sometime hide or show
different information on a certain slide based on the audience.
Thanks so much!

Sorry, I didn't get back to you sooner. I just returned from a conference
(I gave a workshop showing 21 educators how to use PowerPoint with VBA).

In the print dialog, you have the option of printing a custom show. Go to
the File menu and choose Print. Under Print Range, one of the options
lets you select from your Custom Shows. I don't know how the headers will
look, but this should get you close to what you want.
