All depends on your system really a few things you can try without forking
out money for upgrades:
Lower the display/sound settings within the game itself.
Close any background apps you're running.
Defragment your HDD.
Make sure you're running the latest drivers for your hardware.
It is any game in particular? Also posting your system specs might be
helpful too, as hopefully some of us might be able to tell you if it's
unusually slow performing for your system.
