Is there a way to embed a slide within a slide?

We are working on a powerpoint for a presentation and would like to embed a
15 minute timer into a slide. Is there a way to do this so that the timer
still counts down to zero? By going through publisher, we can copy and paste
the slide into the working slide, but, the timer no longer counts down.
