If so, what is it?

Do a search (find) in Outlook Express (right-click on the newsgroup in
question, the entire news server, some local folder of outlook express, etc)
and type the name in the From: field or the name in the Message: field will
work if people have replied to them and properly quoted the original
posting/replies.

Otherwise - I suggest using Google Groups --> Advanced Search...

If you want to search newsgroup for text in the messages, whether
names or any other text, by far the best way is not within Outlook
Express, but by using googlegroups advanced search at
http://groups.google.com/advanced_search?q=&
