Application Background...
The background color of applications like MS Word with Word open and no
document open. Color 1 is the background color.
Window...
Color 1 is the background color and Color 2 is the font color. This will
affect such applications as Notepad, WordPad and MS Word. Among other
things, it affects the Run box and the background for radio buttons in
Folder Options, for example.
For Window...
Right click Desktop | Properties | Appearance tab | Advanced button | Left
click the white area where it says Windows Text | This will select Window
under Item | Color 1 is background | Click the V on Color 1 to expand the
Color 1 menu | Click a color | You can preview before you hit the Apply
button, the white background will change to whatever color you select |
OK your way out

Advanced button | Under Item: click the V to expand the menu |
Scroll down and select Window | For background select Color 1 |
Click the V on Color 1 to expand the Color 1 menu | Click a color | You can
preview before you hit the Apply button, the white background will change to
whatever color you select | OK your way out
