Is there a way to appear temporarily with a fixed ip address on the public internet?

Hi
We have a dynamic ip ADSL service to our home network with dynamic ip
addresses assigned to each computer. My wife needs to access a secure
site for work which restricts access to a limited ip range - i.e. she
needs to provide the security team a fixed ip address for which access
will be enabled. She only requires web browsing on this secure site for
a few weeks so I don't want to go through the hassle of upgrading to a
fixed ip address with our ISP (a lengthy process) if there's an
alternative way of achieving the same ends.

Does anyone know of such a way? I thought that someone might be
offering a kind of public internet NAT and have been searching on
Google but to no avail. I had a look at one of those identity-masking
sites but it didn't seem to offer to display a specific fixed ip
address just to mask your current one.

Many thanks in advance for any help.

-If you use an Ethernet router instead of a USB modem, then with a good line
you should be able to keep the connection 'live' for several weeks at a go.

Other point, your ISP probably uses a limited range of addresses for ADSL
connections. if you ask them they should be able to tell you what this is.
Your admin might accept making a firewall rule for the whole of this range.

You could also run a webproxy on any Internet-side webserver with CGI
capabilities. This generally calls for pro-grade webspace, mind you.

Hi

I do not know of any thing that you can do on your side.

The general way to appear on the Internet with another IP is to use a Proxy
server. The IP that would appear on the Internet would be one of the Band
that belongs to the Proxy service not your dynamic IP.

Unfortunately, these types of services are used by many that want to Hide
their real IP because they are might be involved in NO-NO activities so they
are not "popular" with security people.

Contact the people that run the Secure site that your wife want to use and
ask them if they would accept an IP of the band that belongs to a business
oriented Proxy service (

Example: http://theproxyconnection.com/ ), if they would (which I doubt) you
can solve the problem.
