Is there a limit on the number of folders in Outlook?

I'm attempting to create mail folders in outlook2003 but no new folders are
shown in the folders list. There are dozens of existing folders created over
a number of years. Is there some sort of limit on the number of such folders
permissible in outlook?

The limit is something like 32K.
