Is there a FREE trial version of VS2005 ?

Googled, and all that seems to be coming up are trial that require a
purchase. I thought there was a free evaluation/test version of VS2005?

The "express edition" of Visual Studio 2005 is free without
limitation, as long as you grab it before the end of this year. You
also get the express edition of SQL Server (as an optional component).
