Is the 64-bit Vista an upgrade to 32-bit one?

I just installed the 32-bit home premium version on my computer. Brand new
hard drive, no previous Windows programs. When I get the 64-bit version, do
I have to do the entire installation process again or is it a quick upgrade?
Reason for my question is I want to know if I can start configuring my
preferences and adding all the programs or should I wait since I'll have to
do it all over again? Thanks for the help!!

If you want to use the 64 bit version, you will not be able to upgrame from
the 32 bit version.
