Is Publisher 2000 compatible with Front Page 2000?

I have created a web page in Publisher 2000 and I would like to tweak it in
Front Page 2000. Is this possible because I am receiving a prompt not
recognizing .pub files? Can I download any patches to make this work?

It's compatible in the sense that if you generate a pub document and Save As HTML then import it into FP...yes.

However,,,you may have to do more than a little tweaking.

IMO...stick with one or the other...generate and use Pub's webpage as is...or learn to use FP to generate your webs.

FP is better for web design than Pub which is a DTP that can generate html....

You have to save the Publisher Document as a Web Site. You might be better off redoing the page
directly in FP, if you want to be able to maintain it with FP, because any time you make changes to
the document in Publisher, you will have save as a Web Site, then import into FP and redoing any
changes you made while in FP to the previous pages, etc.

This is a yes and no question. You *could* edit the .html file however
Publisher doesn't generate pure html text. FP cannot edit a .pub file - and
there's no way around that.

Do yourself a favor - decide which program you want to use. If it's
Publisher, then stick to it. If it's FrontPage (which is what I'd
recommend), re-create your site in FP and stick with that.

No it is NOT compatible simply because Publisher is not a web development
tool
Covert the PUB file to HTML, then import those files into your Frontpage
Web.

Get a book on Frontpage that explains how to use it. "Frontpage Inside Out"
is a good series, and often recommended on this newsgroup.
