Is Practicing in FP2003 a Good Idea?

If I want to "practice" working with FP2003 by using my existing website and not risk ruining that one, could someone please tell me the correct procedure to make a "copy" so I have a site to practice with? I am using Windows XP, FP2003, and my site is a disk-based web.

Or, is it okay to just create a new site to get a feel for FP2003, start working with some of the features so I can get a hands-on to learn this program, and then just delete it after I am done

Robert is a little short. I will walk you through it.

1. My Computer | Open C Drive
2. Create a new folder on the c drive and name it something
3. Open you site in FP 2003
4 File | Publish Site | Look to the right panel titled "Remote Web Site" |
Remote Web Site Properties
5. Look at Remote Web Site Location and change it to the folder you created
either by typing or browsing
6. Make sure to tick File System above it, if it is not ticked.
7. OK
8. Select everything on the left and click on the arrow that points right ->

Should start copying the files.

Simply create a new web. FrontPage > File > New > Web. Name it test, save it.
Then open a new page inside of test and practice away.

I have a web named test on all of my machines where I try "new things."

Thank you so very much for the help! I am relieved that I will be able to practice, practice, practice with my existing site without affecting it.

Here's an easy one. Why in the heck can't I print out all of this useful information? I have tried everything through the print option and I can't get the entire discussion to print out. I access the discussion group through FP2003, Help, Communities

Duh, sometimes I can be so thick. I must remember the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) method because computers can just frustrate me to no end. This FrontPage program has me a bit frazzled and I am under pressure by my boss to start showing some results and I haven't done a thing. Thanks so much for the help everyone
