Is it worth switching from XPe SP1 to SP2?

We've been using XPe SP1 successfully for 3 years now. Sure there are
things that don't quite work right, but I've mostly worked around them.

I know that XPe SP2 has been out for a while now and I was wondering if it
is worth switching to it. The embedded devices we make, never use the
Internet, so a firewall is not required.

I also see that there is now an XPe SP2 feature tools...is this worth it?

Thanks,
RussR

Many, Many new features, well worth the upgrade. One thing to be cautioned
about is the images are quite a bit larger depending on your image of course
and what you need.
I'm still trying to over come the additional bloat, even with the firewall
removed. My SP1 Image, untouched, increased in size by about 40 megs, with
the firewall removed. I've been doing a little teaking but hadn't had time
to find out where all the additional bloat came from.

We run pretty small systems so size is pretty important. If that is not an
issues, there have been lots of fixes, lots of new features (especially in
the EWF area).
Horm, EWF, File based Write Filter, Registery write filters and component
improvements (Reduced dependencies on really large components by breaking
them out some).

Full details are on the MS Site.

If anyone knows, what is the average increase in size from an SP1 image to a
SP2 image with no changes, and no firewall?

FP2007 addresses some issues regarding bloat caused by excessive
dependancies. If you pick up SP2 then you should definetly use FP2007 as
well to address size increase issues.

We have to fit our image on 128MB card. Did it with SP1, and size required
actually decreased with SP2, probably due to better understanding of how it
all fits together.

Hmm, I've heard that SP2 results in a bigger image...what exactly causes
this bigger image? I don't care about firewall...really no need for that in
our embedded devices.

What are the benefits and what is the Feature Pack 2007?

Also, will my SP1 Target Designer images work on SP2?

Thanks
