Is it true that Access is going away after 07?

I'm hearing a rumor that Access 07 will be the last edition of Access. Has
anyone else heard this?

Hi Jeff,

Will it be part of Office 14? We can't find it referenced anywhere and were
just wondering if it would be tied to the Office roll out.

I know the answer to that question, but I don't believe I'm allowed to
answer that question at this time (there are still NDA restrictions right
now).

Best place to find out any breaking news on the Access front is the official

Just with every version since 2.0.

Wasn't true then, not true now.

I would put some credence in a rumor that there will be no Access 3008.
(Then again, I'd also believe there will be no Access 2008, since we are
past that date. <SMILE>)

Sooner than that, I'd consider it nothing more than someone trying to scare
Access users, and they've been trying to do that since 1993... well, maybe
they didn't start the scare stuff until 1994 -- "I heard a rumor that Access
1.1 will be the last release.".

You guys are reading too much into Jeff's "unable to say". Whatever is
written in a forum by a Microsoft person will be interpreted by some as a
statement on behalf of Microsoft of final decision / policy / commitment.
Doubtless they have blanket restrictions in place to keep routine
forum-responses from creating such on behalf of Microsoft.

Exactly Fred.
As you can see from this small example, people have already interpreted what
I said, or did not say, differently. That is exactly why I'm not allowed to
say anything right now.
