Is it the drivers, game or vista?

Hi All,
Just doing some game compatibility testing on my laptop (Vaio VGN-A517B)
which has an ATI X600 256MB graphics card.

I am using Vista Ultimate (via MSDN) but cannot get a number of games
(specifically WoW) to increase the screen resolution past 800x600.

I have used the default Vista drivers and the lastest notebook ATI drivers,
both with the same result.

Can anyone shed any light on this for me?

Having a similar issue with WoW on my Dell 2005fpw on a 6800GT. In my case
the monitor driver won't install in Vista so WoW will only give me standard
resolutions. Been looking high and low for a solution and have found quite a
few other people with the same problem, but no work-around yet.

Try to use the XP drivers, you won't get Aero Glass, but the game should work
fine..
