is it service pack 2 causing this???

Hi
I dont know if this is the right place for this but can someone please give
me some ideas!!

Ever since windows xp service pack 2 tried to install and failed I have had
problems with the computer!

When I try to install it it fails and my computer clicks and freezes the
only way to stop it is to reboot!

Also if I try and run a virus scan it reaches this point in the scan
c:\windows\Softwaredistribution\download\.....\backup\system.adm
and clicks and freezes!

Has anyone got any ideas?

Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling my anti virus and Ive tried a roll
back and Ive tried deleting any service pack 2 files!

Hi,

Do a repair installation at this point, as you likely have a partial
installation of SP2, and the combined use of restore points and the <delete>
key have likely made things much worse.
