I ran Spybot Search & Destroy a registry entry that had been changed called....
Microsoft.WindowsSecurityCenter_disabled and found under wscsvc - start -
in HKey Local machine/system/currentcontrol/services. Is it safe to delete
this entry? I am having problems not showing appearances windows xp for the
taskbar and dont want to delete something important!
Thanks

You do not give enough information.

wscsvc.dll is a process belonging to Windows Security Center Service.

wscsvc.exe is an undesireble program added by a password stealing Banker
TROJAN!

Apparently wscsvc.exe can disable the Security Center service.

This can be the Security Center service...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WSCSVC

If Start = 4, the service is Disabled.

1 = No idea
2= Automatic
3= Manual
4 = Disabled

Hope this helps. Let us know.
