Hi everybody!

I want to know, is it possible to do a movie on Windows Movie Maker 5.1, and
then set it up to watch on Windows Media Player 10. If I need to change the
extension file code at the end, how do I do that?

Thanks for your help.

when encoding the video ...if you use WMV format , WMP will play it ...

since I have not used it personally ..I can tell you it hinges on the final
movie output format as to which "reader" it can be viewed in.
(I don't know which is the default output from that program)

hope that is helpful :>

once you have saved the finished movie in the format you want i wouldnt have
thought that you would have to change any file ext, media player would just
play it as normal. pete ;-)

Iddy biddy problem - It only lets me save it as a *MSWMM file for the program
itself. Any other ideas?

Instead of clicking "Save Project", click "Save Movie File" and go through
those steps. That is how you save your movie when you have completed it.
Movie Maker will save in WMV or AVI formats.

Anything you create in WMM should be watchable in WMP. Unless you've
made WMM (or another program) the default program for a file-extension
then you shouldn't have to do anything to get WMP to play it right off.

That format is a Movie Maker project - ie encompassing all the bits and
pieces needed to make a movie for playback. It's not meant to be
distributed or used as a general playback format.
