Is it possible to use Media Center Remote on XP Pro?

I have a media center remote and i also have media center 05.......Im
wondering if there is a driver that would allow me to use the media
center remote on a standard XP Pro Install? I have the XP Pro machine
running through my tv and house stereo and would very much like to use
the remote any help would be greatly appreciated!
 
The remote will certainly work basic functions of Windows Media Player such
as volume, play, pause, stop etc. I don't know if it will work with any
other application.
