Is it possible to upgrade from 2000 Pro to XP Pro?

After a disk failed on a laptop I was sent a new one through warranty.
I used the original software to put Windows 2000 professional back on it.

Our company has an enterprise license to use Windows XP Pro on our machines.
Is it possible to upgrade from 2000 Pro to XP Pro?

Previously when I tried to upgrade from Win98 to Win XP Pro (another
machine) I ended up with a dual boot machine, something I don't want this
time.

Is there anything special I should do, or just put the XP CD in and let it
recognize that this is a newer version of the OS and to install it.
