Is it possible to reduce Restore point memory in Vista (as in XP)?

In XP the procedure for reducing memory space allocated to Restore
Points (12% of total disk space by default!) is well documented -
including its advantages.

When I tried to re-produce it for Vista, I got defeated by the
impenetrable 'teflon' options offered by the system. (My Vista Business
would not even offer me the information how much memory had been
allocated to this utility.)

Pointers please (and advice, if I should not reduce it "because Vista
knows better")

I think I would leave well enough alone but
if you are running low on hard drive space...
maybe the following article will offer some
ideas.

Thanks John for the pointer. It looks like changing Vista's setting is
far too geeky for me to contemplate. (In XP there is an official
'slider' which allows you to set it from anywhere between 500M to 'way
high'.)

It's harder in Vista, but you can read here:
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/reduce-system-restores-disk-usage-in-vista/

or http://tinyurl.com/3azp82

If you follow those directions, don't do it while shaving and take
care not to multiple entities needlessly. :)

Thanks Bert. When i said "In XP the procedure for reducing memory space
allocated to Restore Points is well documented" I was referring to your
excellent site.

I'll skip the Vista procedures though ('leave well enough alone') -
until these are better understood.
