Is it possible to promote a standalone NT4 server to a bdc w/o rebuld? If
so, how?

Note that the tools Pegasus has listed are rumored to work, but it's
completely unsupported - I think it's better to do a full reinstall now than
have to do so under duress when something goes wrong and MS won't talk to
you. Just my two cents.
