is it possible to insert slides from web?

I use PowerPoint for displaying lyrics on a screen for a church group.

My question: I have each song in its own power point file, they are all
published on our website and the leader will download the file from the web,
save it to the hard drive then create a new presentation with the slides
he/she downloaded.

My hope is finding a way to set up a webpage so when they click on the file
(eg. song1.ppt) PowerPoint will open asking if you want to insert slide from
web. Then when they click the second song (song2.ppt) it will automatically
add the second song into the power point presentation. This just skips the
step of downloading the file to the hard drive.

I am thinking that this would be more of a html question as apposed to a
PowerPoint question, but you never know!?

Hope you can help!

Yes, it is. At least it works when I tested in PPT 2003. And this is a
pretty nifty trick.

From within PowerPoint, click on Insert, Slides from Files, type the URL of
the presentation, click Display. It should pull in the slides to be selected
directly from the web. You can also click on Add to Favorites for ones that
are frequently used.
