Is it possible to get the preview pane to appear at the side?

In outlook express i can have the preview pane at the side rather than
underneath, i find this a really good way to view emails. I can't seem to
find this option with microsoft outlook, and I would much rather use the
more comprehensive micosoft outlook than outlook express but I can't get on
with the preview pane being underneath (drives me nuts!!)....so I stick to
outlook express.......is this my only choice?
