Is it possible to do a "Mail merge" in Outlook??

Peter

I have a long distribution list (230 names) and would like to sen customised
emails to each of these names. Is it in any way possible to do a "mail
merge", similar to that done in MSWord, so that I can take from a (Excel or
MSWord) database/Table an email address and add to it specific text and
combine the bits into a unique email that goes to each of the names on the
distribution list?

I hope this is clear bottom line is that I have 230 names and 230 chunks of
information that I want to use to create 230 "unique" emails and I do not
want to do them one by one

Tnx!!

if the data is in a format mail merge can use, yes. You do the merge the
'normal' way in word but send it to email rather than printing.

Hi Diane

Thanks for the response but I am still not clear on the process.

I am able to do the MSWord mail merge part.
What I am struggling with is how I send to the merged record to Outlook,
"merge" the particular record with the associated email address in the "To:"
field, automatically send to that addressee and then move on to the next
merged record.

..... And I want to do all this without any programming skills ;-)

Tnx

Hi again

I have been experimenting using the info you sent and have worked out how to
do it TNX!!

One more question though. If I do the merge in MSWord and then send to
email is it possible to add file attachments to the mail merged email? If so
where and how is the attachment specified.

If I could do this too it would be the cherry on the top and my life would
be bliss!

Tnx
Peter
