Follow up to my message below:
I closed off everything for about 10 minutes.
I re-started the system and then I was able to boot the system.
But as I got to my desktop, the system shutdown and began to re-boot
itself.
It again got to the desktop and once again shutdown.
At this point I saw a quick message about the systen now running in
safe mode and to re-set the CPU or something like that, but it was too
quick for me to read it completely.
Ideas please.
Thanks.

ORIGINAL PLEA FOR HELP:
Just finished building a new system.
New ASUS MB, new HD, new GeForce 7300GT video, etc.
All powered up fine.
Installed XP, updates, etc.
Ran for about 24 hours. Checked it and now, it gives no video signal
and the HD light on the case stays lite. Hard power off and then back
on doesn't help.
Have full power however, since all fans and PS are clearly up and
running.
Any ideas as to what might be happening?

Well, you did not mention that you set up the BIOS and installed the board
drivers after you installed the OS.
Better unplug the power supply reset the bios and once at the desk top
install the MB drivers.
