Is an Amphersand ("&") Allowable in a Command Button Caption?

Is an amphersand allowable in a command button caption? While it shows okay
when editing the caption, as soon as I close the caption edit, the "&"
disappears. I have tried: &, "&", and \&.

Any help will be appreciated!
