Is adjusting browser timeout only for IE4 service pack 1?

Hello,

Thanks for the reply Henri.
Hello all-I'm trying to extend the Internet Explorer
timeout time to roughly 10minutes rather than the default
5 minutes it is set to. I've tried the below instructions
but my browser still times out after 5 minutes:

------------------------------
1) Add a ReceiveTimeout DWORD value with a data value of
(<number of seconds>)*1000 in the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
\Internet Settings

For example, if you want the timeout duration to be 8
minutes, set the ReceiveTimeout data value to 480000
(<480>*1000).

2)Restart your computer.

Note: This setting does not work on an Internet Explorer
4.0 and 4.01 client computer because it was added in
Internet Explorer 4.0 SP1
------------------------------------

So my questions are:
1) Am I not having success because I am using Internet
Explorer 6 rather than IE4 with SP1?
2) If so, how/where do I get Internet Explorer 4? A url
to where I can download it would be most helpful.
3) If I need IE4 instead, do I need to uninstall IE6
beforehand or can I run both versions of the browsers
simultaneously?
4) Did IE4 come bundled with windows 95? If I cannot get
IE4 by itself, would I need to uninstall windows 2000
(which is what I'm using now) before install windows 95?

Any help would be very much appreciated. I've attached
the history of messages on this topic below.

Thank you all,
-Jeff

Are you sure you're running up against the client timeout? It's possible
that your client timeout has been correctly set but that you're hitting the
server timeout. I don't know enough about your situation to really comment,
but that is a possibility.
