I have a program that uses winzip self installer. When I try to
install, I get a prompt asking me to load a disk--from a program that
was deleted long ago. The install process won't continue without this
disk, so somehow the self extraction process has been associated with
this old program. How do I cange it? I tried using the file association
window--no good.

Instead of "deleting" that program from long ago try reinstalling it and
then uninstall it from Add\Remove. A "WinZip self installer" is probably
just an exe file as an archive. This should uncompress even without WinZip
installed. I never heard of a WinZip installer.
