Irritating A7N8X problem.

Hi guys,

I don't think this is really a mobo problem, but it's the closest thing I
could think of.

I am using the onboard sound with my Creative 5300 Inspire speakers and it
works a treat, except that every single time I start the computer, it has
defaulted to 'desktop speaker' setup, so I have to go into control
panel/nforce setup and put it back to 5.1.

It's really aggravating!! Any thoughts why it's not saving my preference?

Thanks guys,

Try making changes to Sounds and Audio Devices in the Control Panel
also.

I've tried that - still no use :(

Still, thanks for your input James.

Well, the only other thing I can think of is that either windows is
not shutting down correctly (not saving changes) or that the nvidia
drivers are corrupt/damaged/not installed correctly.

Some games do that too. GTA Vice City when set to 2 speaker mode changed
my settings. Nvidia is supposedly working on a fix for that.
