I'm not a computer guy and I need help. I had to reinstall
faxmodem drivers, and now my sound is screwed up. I assume
it's because of the reinstallation of the faxmodem
drivers, because that's when the sound stopped working. My
CD works OK, but not my downloaded music. I think it might
be a conflict, but I don't know what to do..I have 6
different things assigned to IRQ7:(2) NIC's,(2) PCI to USB
host controllers, an audio driver, and a modem. I assume
each should have their own IRQ, but how do I change them?
And does it matter which gets which IRQ? I'm running W2000
SP3 at present. Any help greatly appreciated. Please

Art - it's standard for W2k to share IRQs and it does it well.
First thing I'd try is reinstalling the audio driver(s); there's
a chance the faxmodem installation installed some downlevel
system or other file the sound depends on. Then, if the sound
comes back, one hopes the faxmodem will keep on working.
