IRQ Problem

Got a K8N Diamond Board with built in Sound Creative Live 24-bit.
When I load the drivers system assigns IRQ 11 but when I load the
Silicon Image SATA Link Controller drivers they and the Audio Controller
all get assigned IRQ16 - This is causing me problems on FS2004 with
Sound problems and the PC rebooting. Is there any way of getting this
conflict resolved without changing PC from ACPI to Std PC? I've tried
uninstalling and reinstalling everything in every possible combination
without any success.

Much obliged for any help.

Put the sound card into another PCI slot on the motherboard. And also
read the motherboard manual. It should describe which slots share the
same IRQ with other onboard devices.

The OP (orinigal poster) stated that the sound card is "built-in" on
the mothrhboard. If this is really true, then they can not
"physically" move it.

One possible fix: change the PCI slot that the SATA conbtroller
uses. Or, if you do not already use the built-in IDEo ports of the
motherboard, disable them in the BIOS. This should free up the
IRQ14-15.
