how do i find and change the irq in windows xp.

some more info.

ever so often when i playing a game the computers freezes and the light on
my cd writer comes on no cd in the drive,
i have a dvd drive on the same ide lead.
if i exit the game or program and go in to my computer the cd and dvd drive
have go,all so in the system device manager they are no longer listed.

as so i have looked at the irq list and see that

(pci)16 intel usb host c0ntroller 24d2 &
(pci)16 intel usb nost controller 24de &
(pci)16 nvidia geforec 6800gt &
(pci)16 Texas instruments ieee 1394 host controller

are on the same irq 16 is this right or word it be better if the 6800GT card
was on a different irq,

ps why dose the 6800gt come up as pci when it agp card.

at the moment i have unpluged the cd drive to see if the drive is the
problem.

please help as its driving me mad.

ACPI/APIC prevents this in WinXP software.Check your mother board
manual to see if you can manually reserve IRQs for specific slots.As
for AGP being seen as PCI have you installed/updated your mother board
drivers?
