IrDA port does not work after SP2 installation

Device manager says, IrDA is there, but when I try to connect my mobile to
it, nothing happens. Any ideas? Is that connected with IRCOMM and IRMON
problems?
 
Try to "disable" it, then "enable" it as a device.

There are a couple of issues after SP2, see in particular the third and
fourth in the XP section of my summary of Knowledge base article at
http://www.alanjmcf.me.uk/comms/infrared/Microsoft KB articles on infrared subjects.html.

However since you can disable and enable that implies you are logged on
as an adminstrator and neither should occur then... But let us know.

Also check that the irmon/Infrared Monitor service does exist and is
running.
