iPod - what USB stuff do I need?

We bought the iPod 20G for our daughter for Christmas. I thought the
box contained all that we needed to get started. However, we don't
seem to be able to connect to USB without additional adapters or
something???? The box says that the unit is for both Mac and
Windows--firewire or USB. We don't have firewire, and we only have
USB 1.1 for now. But I would have expected that the unit we bought
would have had the necessary equipment to attach to USB at least.

What do I need to get to connect to our PC?

Very common problem, you do not have firewire port on
your PC thus you need to buy the USB adapter cable from
apple. or have a firewire card installed into your
computer which is costly and time consuming.

IMO, no more costly than a USB2.0 card, which you will appreciate
having (either USB2.0 or forewire).
