I've recently gotten a new work computer. We have an older iPod Model
M9242LL with Windows format, for which I had previously installed software
update 2.3 as required. Now when I plug in the iPod to the USB port, which I
am having problems accessing via "My Computer," iTunes tells me the iPod is a
"new item" and needs to be updated--eventhough if I cancel uploading the
software it recognizes the named iPod. When I run the updater it only gives
me the option to Restore the iPod to factory settings, and we have 800+ songs
on this, which I don't want to have to re-import onto the iPod.
Since the new computer, and this non-recognition of the updated software on
the iPod, our playlists are not being updated. Any suggestions would be
appreciated!
