iPod Manager starts then quits

I installed iPod software and iTunes on my laptop running XP. When I
start the iPod manager, it opens but then just quits. The iPod
manager does not appear in the sys tray. No error gets logged in the
event viewer. Anyone else seen such behavior?

Everything else seems works OK, syncing with the iPod via iTunes is
just fine.

I had the same problem too.

To fix that I uninstalled iTunes and all of iPod
software. Then I reinstalled the bundled iPod software.
Everything worked as regular. Then I reinstalled iTunes.
After that I noticed that the iPod manager was removed.

Now when I plug in the iPod the "safely remove hardware"
feature only appears. And the iPod is automatically
loaded into iTunes.
