ipconfig & ping commands

While trying to setup my wireless home network,
the "ipconfig" and "ping" commands are not recognized by
my desktop PC. I am running XP Pro on both my desktop and
laptop. The laptop seems to be working fine but I can't
share any files or printer. Any suggestions would be
greatly appreciated.

Those tools should be in your windows\system32 directory, make sure they are
still there.
