IPCONFIG info

Using both RC2 and Ultimate editions we assigned static IP adresses to
two PC's.
When we attempt to view the IP info from the cmd prompt the stack info
is not refreshed.

We get the following info only.
Ethernet Adapter Local Area connection:

Media State - Disconnected
Connection-specific DNS Suffix - my.com
Description - Broadcom 440x ...
Physical Address - 00:15:C5:BB:40:88
DHCP Enabled - No
Autoconfiguration Enabled - Yes

Shouldn't auto config be off?
Why after assigning the IP add of 192.168.0.1 is the DNS Suffix not reset?
Do I have to have a connection to see the info populate in IPCONFIG?

Any Info would be great.

Unfortunately I'm in a call center and do not have the ability to
connect. We were attempting to simulate a customer calling us with
connectivity issues.

Additionally we have another question: What are all of the "Tunnel
Adapter LAN *6" listed in a IPCONFIG /ALL?
We suppose they are IPSec but why list them as adapters?

That might be a nice idea. I'll bring it up to my mgr.

Anyway the problem was definitely a PEBCAK! Needed a layer1 connection
for IPCONFIG to show any information. DUH!
