Ipconfig doesn't work properly

Hi,when I used the command 'ipconfig',I can only get the reply
'Windows IP Configuration '
,and nothing more
And when I use internet exploer,the IE will tell me that now no network connection is available and ask me working offline or try again,if i choose to try again
then the IE can work properly
The matter is that when I use msn messenger it keep on telling me that I have no network connection at all
this is really annoying,what can i do?Hope anybody can help me,thank you very much

2. If you have a restore point from a time before the
problem started,
run System Restore and roll the system back.
