ipaq 3870 no lomger detected

Running Xp service pack 2 (with auto update), and windows ce 2003
I used to be able to sync between the 3870 and both my office and home PCs,
but now although the IPAQ is detected by XP, when I try to run acivesync it
is not detected by USB or serial cable. Any ideas what may have gone wrong?
 
As with your other question, you'd be better off posting this in a more
relevant newsgroup, such as microsoft.public.pocketpc
