The last two days on some boots to Vista Ultimate 64 it is picking up the
wrong IP address and I have to reboot. Since the end of January and on my
XP system it picks up the correct address.

Bad cable? Bad router/modem port? Weak wireless signal? Wireless adapter OK?

Thanks for the quick reply. It's not wireless or used with a router, but
may be a bad cable or modem port. Will try a new cable and clean and see if
I can do anything about the modem port. It has only happened twice and
nothing has touched the modem or cable between successful and unsuccessful
boots. Thanks again.

Remember that the computer receives it's IP address from the modem or
router. It doesn't create one on it's own.
