When I run the CMD and ipconfig to view my IP address in
order to set up a home network.

The command does not run, the CMD says "ipconfig is not a
recognized as an internal or external command, operable
program or batch file"

I have set up my user to be Administrator.

Please can you tell me what the probelem is.

Your path variable is probably not pointing to a folder where the
program is located, or the file is missing from your system).

Use Windows "search" function to look for ipconfig.exe, and then modify
your path environment variable to include, or include full-path in
command to run the program.

If not there ... well, I don't know why not. Somebody or someone
deleted it.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

Thanks,
That worked OK when I used the full path in CMD it worked
OK.

One other question how do I change the path variable to
be correct for the CMD tool?

Best to read about this in Help. No reason for me to re-write all that
learning here. Search for words "setting environment variables" and see
that article plus the "related topics".

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

To change the path:

Right click on My Computer
Properties
Advanced tab
Environment Variables button
In the lower window, highlight Path and click on the Edit button
